Acuver Consulting is looking for proficient IBM Sterling OMS Principal Consultant between 12 to 20 years relevant work experience
In this pivotal role, you will lead the design and implementation of cutting-edge order management solutions for major clients, optimizing order fulfillment, enhancing customer satisfaction, and driving significant business growth.
What you’ll do:
- Strategic Technical Leadership: Provide overarching technical leadership and architectural governance across multiple complex IBM Sterling OMS implementations. You will be accountable for the technical success and quality of solutions, guiding project teams and ensuring alignment with enterprise architectural standards.
- Trusted Client Advisor & Solution Visionary: Serve as a primary technical advisor to senior client stakeholders, translating complex business challenges into strategic, scalable, and innovative IBM Sterling OMS-centric solutions. You will define the end-to-end solution vision and architecture for critical omnichannel initiatives.
- Architect, Design & Innovate: Lead the architecture, detailed design, and oversight of cutting-edge IBM Sterling OMS solutions, including complex customizations, performance-critical extensions, and robust integrations with diverse enterprise systems. Drive innovation by evaluating and incorporating emerging technologies and patterns relevant to omnichannel commerce.
- Practice & Talent Development: Actively contribute to the growth and evolution of Acuver’s OMS practice through thought leadership (e.g., white papers, internal IP), methodology development, and formal mentorship. You will empower and elevate the technical capabilities of other consultants and engineers.
What you’ll need:
- Deep & Broad IBM Sterling OMS Mastery: 12-20 years of progressive hands-on experience with IBM Sterling OMS (v10.0+, OMOC, and cloud-native deployments). Expert-level understanding of its core architecture, components, extensibility framework (APIs, user exits, services, agents, pipelines), and underlying database structures. Ability to troubleshoot complex performance and concurrency issues.
- Architectural & Delivery Leadership: Distinguished track record of successfully leading the architecture, design, and delivery of multiple large-scale, complex omnichannel order management solutions for major retailers, demonstrating accountability for technical outcomes.
- Advanced Technical Proficiency: Proven expertise in extending and customizing Sterling OMS (e.g., advanced APIs, custom business logic, integration frameworks like Kafka/MQ, performance tuning). Strong command of configuration, deployment automation (e.g., CI/CD pipelines), and build scripts. Proficiency in backend technologies (e.g., Java, Spring) and advanced database concepts (e.g., SQL optimization, indexing, transaction management).
- Domain & Strategic Business Acumen: In-depth knowledge of global inventory visibility, complex order orchestration flows, fulfillment strategies, and retail industry trends. Ability to translate strategic business objectives into technical roadmaps and quantifiable solutions.
- Exceptional Communication & Influence: Superior communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both executive business stakeholders and technical teams. Proven ability to influence decisions, build consensus, and lead cross-functional technical discussions.

- Advanced IBM Sterling Modules: Experience with IBM Sterling Intelligent Promising, Order Management on Cloud (OMOC), Inventory Visibility, Call Centre, Store Engagement, and Jasper Reports.
- Cloud-Native & DevOps Expertise: Hands-on experience with cloud-based Sterling OMS certified container deployments (e.g., Kubernetes, OpenShift), and familiarity with DevOps practices for OMS.
- Modern Data & Integration: Advanced proficiency with modern backend (Java, Spring Boot, microservices patterns) and advanced database technologies (e.g., NoSQL, distributed databases). Experience with event streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka) or enterprise integration patterns.
- Broader Supply Chain Expertise: Deep familiarity with end-to-end supply chain and logistics best practices beyond just OMS.
