Role Overview

Acuver Consulting is seeking a highly energetic IBM Sterling OMS Senior Consultant with 5 to 8 years of relevant experience. In this pivotal role, you will lead the engineering of Sterling Commerce platforms for global retailers. You are expected to move beyond execution, taking ownership of technical strategy, architectural direction, and the design of highly scalable, performance-intensive omnichannel solutions.

Core Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership: Define and drive the technical strategy and architectural direction for large-scale E-Commerce platforms.
  • Complex Solution Design: Translate intricate business requirements into specialized technical designs, ensuring the solution is flexible for future business expansion.
  • Hybrid Engineering: Lead the development of “Sidecar” microservices using Spring Boot to extend Sterling’s core capabilities without bloating the base product.
  • Full-Lifecycle Ownership: Drive all project phases: from conceptualization and fit-gap analysis to high-stakes production implementation and performance tuning.
  • Client Advisory: Interact directly with client-side stakeholders and architects to recommend architectural best practices and demonstrate the team’s engineering excellence.

Technical Skills: The Advanced Stack

Must-Have Proficiency

    • IBM Sterling OMS Mastery: In-depth knowledge of version 10.0+ or OMOC, including the Configuration Deployment Toolkit (CDT), IV, SIP, Global Inventory Visibility (GIV), and complex Order Flows.
    • Advanced Backend Engineering: Mastery of Java and Spring Boot for building high-performance, resilient microservices and RESTful APIs.
    • Data Expertise: Expert-level knowledge of Oracle/DB2 SQL and Sterling DB schemas; ability to identify and resolve complex transaction locking and indexing issues.
    • Performance Architecture: Proven ability to write efficient, structured code and tune system agents/services for maximum throughput.

Highly Desirable (Good to Have)

  • Cloud & Modern Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes (OpenShift), and building CI/CD pipelines for OMS deployments.
  • Frontend & UX: Proficiency in Angular, React, or Node.js to customize IBM Web Store and Call Center interfaces.
  • Event-Driven Patterns: Experience with message brokers like Kafka or RabbitMQ for real-time system integrations.
  • Modern Data: Familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra) for high-speed data caching and retrieval.
  • Intelligence & Reporting: Exposure to AI-driven modules like Intelligent Promising and advanced reporting via Jasper Reports.
